Drew McIntyre was recently a guest on the Gorilla Position podcast, and after talking about defeating Brock Lesnar for the WWE Championship at WrestleMania, the subject of "outside" athletes competing in the squared circle came up. Among them is boxing Heavyweight Champion Tyson Fury, someone who has been calling the Scottish Superstar out for weeks now.
During this interview, McIntyre finally responded, and took things one step further by suggesting that they could compete in a "Battle of Britain" match against the Gyspy King.
"He’s a smart man is Tyson Fury, he gets it," McIntyre said. "WWE is a global company in 800 million homes, 180 countries, different languages and over a billion social media followers. So you get us in the ring for a big Battle of Britain match one day? Get a UK pay-per-view out of it? I’m all about it."
There have been rumblings about a UK PPV for years now, and while NXT and NXT UK have held big shows there, the last major main roster PPV was 1992's SummerSlam. Triple H has teased a return to the UK, but with everything going on in the world right now, something tells us that's probably been put on hold (if, indeed, it was ever actually happening).
Would you pay to see this "Battle of Britain" match?
