WWE Denies Reports That Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson Showed Up To WRESTLEMANIA Three Hours Late

Following reports that Dwayne Johnson's lateness to set has been causing problems for him in Hollywood, WWE has been forced to respond to claims he showed up to WrestleMania three hours behind schedule...

Yesterday, The Wrap ran a piece about how Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson's alleged unprofessionalism on the set of MGM and Prime Video's Red One has led to the movie going wildly over budget.

His tardiness was one supposed issue, while the report - you can read a full recap here - also made mention of the actor upsetting crew members by peeing in a water bottle on set.

We mention this because they claim that the Final Boss showed up late to the Show of Shows earlier this month.

According to the trade, "He was three hours late arriving ahead of his main event match at WrestleMania 40." Two insiders told them this, and The Rock being two hours late to his scheduled appearance at the WWE World fan event is highlighted.

"You’re booing because The Rock was a little late, that’s why you’re booing?" a heel Johnson asked the unhappy crowd at the time. "[The Rock] was watching YouTube, watching [Eagles quarterback] Jalen Hurts lose in the playoffs again."

"You boo because it’s the truth. Now, The Rock has shown up, you got greatness in front of you - you stand there, shut your mouth and enjoy the ride that The Rock is taking you on."

It was meant to make light of the situation, but fans were legitimately unhappy. The report explains that the real reason for his late arrival wasn't the actor's YouTube viewing habits, but rather WWE commitments and Philadelphia traffic.

Chris Legentil, WWE's executive vice president for Talent Relations and Head of Communications, responded by saying, "Dwayne was not only on time for WrestleMania, he was hours early to help with rehearsal - and a pleasure to work with throughout the entire run."

The Rock has now returned to Hollywood and isn't expected to be back in WWE until later this year or possibly even early 2025. The stage has been set for him to face Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes, though it's clear something is also brewing between him and Roman Reigns.

That's a story WWE can take its time with over the next couple of years assuming Johnson is willing to stick around for the long haul. Considering the fact he's now on the TKO Group Holdings board and that he scored a massive payday for WrestleMania, we'd guess he is.

Johnson hasn't responded to any of these claims and is unlikely to do so. We will, however, be sure to keep you updated if and when that changes.
