We think this was a good move.

In the wake of massive backlash over WWE's decision to name the upcoming women's WrestleMania battle royal after The Fabulous Moolah, the company has officially announced that the match will now simply be known as, "WrestleMania Women’s Battle Royal."

"After further consideration, we believe it’s best to proceed with the name ‘WrestleMania Women’s Battle Royal.’ What remains most important is that this historic match is part of WWE’s unwavering commitment to the Women’s Division.”

Moolah has been a controversial figure for many years, with accusations emerging that she treated her trainees terribly - even "pimping" them out and forcing them to sleep with men on occasion. Since the battle royal announcement, more women have come forward with their stories, leaving WWE with little choice but to alter the name.

Will the statue still resemble her, though? That might be awkward!
