With the COVID-19 pandemic still causing chaos across the globe, it looks like WWE is going to face some serious problems taping shows moving forward. Florida Governor Ron DeSantis announced yesterday that he has issued a stay-at-home order in Florida which takes effect from today and lasts for 30 days.
As a result, WWE will struggle to hold shows in the WWE Performance Center as wrestlers definitely aren't considered key workers who will be able to flout these rules in order to attend upcoming shows. It's also hard to imagine how the company will fly in talent from other parts of the country.
Here's where things get really interesting, though.
After this news broke, the WrestleVotes Twitter account shared the following: "Rumors around the PC last week were that if the state of FL issued a Stay Home order, which happened today, WWE would reconsider taking a break post Mania. The RAW after is shot. I’ve been told if they are pausing for a while, some footage shot won’t be aired. TBD at this point."
In other words, WWE could now be forced to take a hiatus after WrestleMania and the RAW which takes place the night after. However, something tells us that WWE won't stop airing shows until All Elite Wrestling pulls the plug on Wednesday nights...
