Preview & Predictions for WWE RAW:
On tap for today's episode, the two Intercontinental Championships are getting some spotlight again as Penta defends his newly-won title against The Original El Grande Americano (Chad Gable), while a gauntlet match will determine who faces AJ Lee next for the Women's Intercontinental Championship.
While Gable's El Grande Americano is a pure heel in AAA, he's booked as a babyface on Raw. Vice versa, Ludwig Kaiser's El Grande Americano is the opposite. I think we'll see some shenanigans here where either Kaiser (possibly with Los Americanos) or Dominik Mysterio will get involved. If the latter does, I'd expect Finn Balor to, as well, and possibly even JD McDonagh. This could lead to some sort of tag or six-man tag team match or whatever coming up—maybe even an eight-man if you want to throw in a guy like Je'Von Evans. I'm suspicious the IC title match at Mania will include multiple men.
As far as the women's match goes, that has not been stated as a WrestleMania match, so I think we're looking at a quick one-off defense for AJ Lee. In the grand scheme of things, I think Roxanne Perez captures that title next. If she's ready to go for WrestleMania (which I'm not sure of, as it depends on her health), then Raquel Rodriguez winning this could help set that up. If not, maybe it's just something random with Bayley for the sake of it?
Oba Femi is going to beat Rusev. That feels like a certainty. There is no reason for Femi to lose.
Here are your results for WWE Monday Night Raw - March 9, 2026:
- The show started with Adam Pearce telling Seth Rollins that since he isn't medically cleared, he shouldn't be attacking The Vision. When Logan Paul and Austin Theory came out to try to get their hands on Rollins, a handful of other masked men ran in to cause a distraction. LA Knight then went after The Vision, followed by The Usos. Theory and Paul ran off.
- WWE Women's Intercontinental Championship No. 1 Contender's Gauntlet Match: Lyra Valkyria vs Bayley vs Iyo Sky vs Raquel Rodriguez vs Asuka vs Ivy Nile — Bayley was the ultimate victor, with the order of eliminations being Lyra Valkyria (by Iyo Sky), Raquel Rodriguez (by Iyo Sky), Iyo Sky (by Ivy Nile), Ivy Nile (by Bayley) and Asuka (by Bayley).
- Danhausen cursed Original El Grande Americano in a backstage segment since Americano didn't want to team up with him. He was then replaced by Ludwig Kaiser's El Grande Americano.
- WWE Men's Intercontinental Championship Match: Penta (c) defeated El Grande Americano
- Dominik Mysterio blamed Finn Balor on why he lost the Intercontinental Championship. Balor said that he's been trying to teach him over the years, but he's now realizing that Rey Mysterio was right to call Dom spoiled. Everyone in The Judgment Day then beat down Balor with a 4-on-1 attack.
- Oba Femi defeated Rusev by pinfall.
- CM Punk was in the ring for a promo. The Usos came out and demanded he apologize for his remark about Sika last week. Punk essentially said no, continuing to run down Roman Reigns, and ultimately got struck down by them out of anger.
