It was recently confirmed that this year's SummerSlam will take place in Las Vegas' Allegiant Stadium on Saturday, August 21. Fans will be in attendance for the show (they'll return to shows on a weekly basis starting July 16) with Money in the Bank the first post-WrestleMania PPV to have a live crowd.
There have been rumblings recently about John Cena returning to the event, while we've also heard that WWE might want Brock Lesnar to step back into the ring (presumably for a match against WWE Champion Brock Lesnar).
Now, WrestleVotes has shared intel on the company's possible plans for SummerSlam.
"After speaking to a few sources on the topic, I’ve learned that WWE is 100% attempting to make SummerSlam this year’s WrestleMania," they explain. "'All resources will be tapped into' is how it was explained to me. I do believe they want Reigns v Cena to headline. Not sure if they’ve decided."
While we've already seen them square off, it would make for one heck of a main event...
