WWE SMACKDOWN LIVE Ratings Surge Thanks To Vince McMahon Attack As RAW Remains Steady

Good news for SmackDown Live as Vince McMahon's return to the show helped boost ratings for the Tuesday night show. RAW, meanwhile, also had a good week as viewership remained steady. Hit the jump for details!

This week's episode of RAW was down slightly with 2.903 million viewers for the three hours but that's actually pretty good news considering the competition. The stacked show went head to head with two Monday night NFL games and while this is obviously a dip compared to the 3.3 million RAW did a few weeks ago, it's an improvement on the 2.69 million from this time last year!

The heated rivalry between John Cena and Roman Reigns can probably be thanked for that as can the former's match with Braun Strowman who had an epic confrontation with Brock Lesnar.

For SmackDown Live, the news wasn't good; it was great! With a special Las Vegas episode that featured three title matches and the highly anticipated return of Vince McMahon (who was quickly brutalised by Kevin Owens in one of the most shocking SmackDown Live moments in recent years), the two-hour show did 2.754 million viewers, a rise from last week's 2.582 million.

This was the highest number since the Superstar Shakeup and a strong sign that the show is about to catch up with RAW. In fact, it could even sail past it as NFL season continues this fall.
