Understandably, there's some concern among Superstars in WWE that a new wave of releases could be coming once the world returns to normal. As you might expect, WWE is set to take a huge financial hit this WrestleMania weekend as ticket and merchandise sales now look set to be non-existent.
WrestleMania has become an entire weekend of events which also includes RAW, SmackDown, NXT TakeOver, and the WWE Hall of Fame.
While Vince McMahon has been offering wrestlers big money contracts to stop them from going to All Elite Wrestling, a lot has changed, and WrestlingNews.co is reporting that some lower card talent are convinced that there will be another cull in a bid to cut expenses.
There is some concern among a few wrestlers in WWE about releases that could be coming when things get back to normal.
"I think guys know they can’t depend on AEW as their safety net because they are going through their issues with canceled shows," one wrestler tells the site. "This will be tough for a lot of guys and for a lot of people in [the wrestling business] overall."
WWE will eventually be able to hold shows in front of a live audience again, but we don't know when exactly that will actually be.
