Preview & Predictions for AEW Dynamite:
On tap for tonight's episode, this is the go-home show prior to the biggest event of the year, All In, so all hands are on deck to build up hype for that. Hence why there will be another one of Tony Khan's latest go-to options, the All-Star 8-Man Tag Team Match. I think the likelihood is that Shibata or Powerhouse Hobbs will take the loss for their team so that Moxley can come out on top, likely due to some shenanigans from The Death Riders getting involved.
Countering that, I think Samoa Joe beats Wheeler Yuta, and those two will definitely be involved in the eight-man tag.
I don't expect much out of the two advertised promo segments. Mercedes Mone and Toni Storm will just repeat what they've already been doing, and Mark Briscoe and MJF having a "talky-talk" as it is being referred to will likely be much of their last interaction likewise.
As far as the four-way for the #2 spot in the Women's Casino Gauntlet is concerned, I doubt Tay Melo or Queen Aminata wins that. Kris Statlander is starting out #1, so I think a heel like Megan Bayne or Thekla makes more sense to be in the ring opposite her. My guess is Bayne pins Melo to win that spot.
Of course, we'll see more than what's already being advertised, but between Dynamite and Collision happening tomorrow night, the big goal will just be to draw attention to Saturday's event more than for this show itself to be hitting home runs with every segment.
Here are your results for AEW Dynamite - July 9, 2025:
- Promo: Mercedes Mone and "Timeless" Toni Storm did the usual "I'm going to win" back and forth. Storm went after Mone, who ran off.
- Kyle Fletcher & Konosuke Takeshita defeated Brody King & Bandido by pinfall.
- Ricochet defeated Blake Christian by pinfall.
- Backstage, JetSpeed has stolen the tag team titles, leaving behind a message for The Hurt Syndicate gloating about how Kevin Knight pinned Shelton Benjamin on Collision.
- Talky Talk: MJF made fun of Mark Briscoe for being from the south. Briscoe called MJF morally bankrupt and said he has no soul.
- Four-Way for the #2 Spot in the Women's Casino Gauntlet Match: Megan Bayne defeated Queen Aminata, Tay Melo and Thekla
- Samoa Joe defeated Wheeler Yuta by submission. Gabe Kidd jumped Samoa Joe after the match. Powerhouse Hobbs and Katsuyori Shibata ran out to make the save and run him and Yuta off.
- All-Star 8-Man Tag Team Match: Jon Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli, and The Young Bucks (Matthew Jackson & Nicholas Jackson) defeated "Hangman" Adam Page, Will Ospreay, Powerhouse Hobbs, and Katsuyori Shibata by submission (referee stoppage with Moxley's bulldog choke on Shibata). Gabe Kidd and Wheeler Yuta joined the fray to beat down the babyfaces. On the big screen, it was shown that Swerve Strickland used an excavator to destroy The Young Bucks' limo. This distraction was enough to give an opportunity for the babyfaces to regain control. Hangman went for a Buckshot Lariat, but Castagnoli interrupted it. Page was tossed a chain that he wrapped around his fist, but before he could strike Moxley, Marina Shafir got the champion out of the ring.
