When Sting signed with WWE in 2014, there was a huge amount of excitement to see what the WCW legend would be getting up to. Unfortunately, it proved itself a rather unforgettable run that consisted of only four matches. Debuting at WrestleMania in a losing effort to Triple H, Sting later defeated The Big Show by DQ and won one tag team match alongside John Cena.

That was against Show and Seth Rollins, and it was the latter who inadvertently retired Sting in their Night of Champions match when he suffered a nasty blow during a Buckle Bomb. As a result, WWE never cleared him to compete again, but we've seen him kick a lot of ass in AEW.

In the video below, AEW President Tony Khan talked about how Sting's AEW run has differed. "It’s pretty amazing the run Sting has had because, to be honest...Sting was wanting to get back into wrestling. What a great comeback Sting had. It had been a while since Sting won wrestling matches like the last time we saw Sting, he wasn’t winning. The whole time he was back in his last run in the competition, they screwed him out of multiple matches, let’s be honest."

"He should have been presented better and that’s one thing I won’t back down on. Sting deserves to be treated like one of the great legends in wrestling and I set out to do that from the beginning with him." AEW has definitely treated Sting like a legend, and his matches have been great thus far.
