Last night's episode of AEW Dynamite was held in front of over 20,000 fans in New York, and this "Grand Slam" edition of the show kicked off with Kenny Omega squaring off with Bryan Danielson.

The hard-hitting match saw the AEW World Champion deliver a huge V-Trigger on the ramp at around the halfway point, and he then spent some time dominating the American Dragon. "Fight Forever" chants broke out in the stadium as Danielson regained some control, but Omega managed to counter him for a series of near falls (his opponent did, however, escape the One-Winged Angel).

Danielson avoided a Phoenix Splash to hit a flurry of kicks, including several stomps to Omega's face.

With that, he managed to roll the heel into the LeBell lock, but Omega reached the ropes and the two men delivered some hard blows before the bell rang to signal the 30-minute time limit being up. That means the match ended in a draw, and it's obvious a rematch will follow in the not too distant future.

After the match, Adam Cole and The Young Bucks hit the ring to deliver a triple superkick to Danielson before Christian and Jurassic Express hit the ring to chase them off.

Here's what else happened on AEW Dynamite: Grand Slam

  • MJF def. Brian Pillman Jr. with the Salt of the Earth submission
  • Malakai Black def. Cody Rhodes with a rollup after spitting black mist into the American Nightmare's face
  • Sting & Darby Allin def. FTR when Dax Harwood tapped out with the Scorpion Deathlock
  • AEW Women's Champion Britt Baker def. Ruby Soho when Soho tapped to the Lockjaw
