This past Wednesday, WWE announced that NXT would be hosting a 2-night event known as The Great American Bash, which, as any old-school WCW fan will know, was the name of one of the now defunct promotion's signature PPVs.

WWE came in for some flak for this clear case of counter-programming, as AEW is running Fyter Fest concurrently over the next two weeks. However, the promotion also received some backlash for resurrecting an event made famous by the late, great "American Dream" Dusty Rhodes.

A fan tagged The Dream's son and current AEW TNT Champion Cody over Twitter to gauge his reaction, but the ever classy American Nightmare is taking the whole thing in his stride.

The promo for The Bash actually used some footage of Dusty, so, really, it could be viewed as a tribute to the legendary son of a plumber.

What do you guys think? Do you plan on tuning in to Fyter Fest or The Great American Bash next Wednesday? Let us know in the comments.
