We heard a while ago that Brian Kendrick may have requested his release from WWE, and it's now been confirmed it was granted several weeks ago. As a result, he's now a free agent and is set to make his AEW debut during tonight's episode of AEW Dynamite on TBS.

He'll be facing Jon Moxley in a match we can only assume will be amazing given the sort of work we've seen from Kendrick in the past (he stole the show during WWE's Cruiserweight Classic).

It's unclear why the former 205 Live Superstar decided to leave WWE, but he had been working as a producer and coach for NXT. However, Kendrick hasn't wrestled on a full-time basis since 2020, so it's possible he just wants to get back into the ring again. WWE had advertised him for an NXT 2.0 match back in December, but it never took place.

Whether Kendrick will soon be named "All Elite" remains to be seen; however, we're hopeful AEW books a match with him facing Bryan Danielson as that would surely be extraordinary.
