Chris Jericho And Sting Finally Came Face-To-Face On AEW DYNAMITE; Could A Match Be In The Works?

History was made during last night's episode of AEW Dynamite when Chris Jericho and Sting finally stood face-to-painted-face for a confrontation that may well be setting the stage for a match down the line.

Earlier this month, Chris Jericho responded to a fan on Twitter to make it clear he has no interest in ever working with Sting.

They've both been in the same locker room at various points in their respective careers, whether it's WCW, WWE, or AEW. However, they've never interacted in the ring before...until last night's episode of AEW Dynamite, that is!

For the first time ever, the two professional wrestling veterans had a staredown which may well be setting the stage for a match in the not-too-distant future.

The confrontation came when Jericho was in the ring having a conversation with Sammy Guevara. It was during that when Sting decided to make his presence felt before his eight-man tag team match alongside Darby Allin, Keith Lee, and Orange Cassidy against the Mogul Embassy.

Le Champion raised his bat to the WWE Hall of Famer's chin, prompting Sting to lift his own. Neither man spoke nor flinched during this exchange and ultimately went their separate ways.

A Sting vs. Jericho match seems likely, and it may well happen at All Out in London's Wembley Stadium this August. That's definitely the sort of bout which would help sell out the stadium's remaining tickets, anyway! It also seems quite a bit more likely than Punk vs. Jericho.

I imagine they're waiting to see if they can get Punk vs a big name before pulling the trigger on Jericho vs Sting, since Jericho is seemingly the biggest name they have openly willing to take that match with Punk.
