What else does Chris Jericho need to accomplish?
The current ROH World Champion has nearly done it all in pro wrestling. When Jericho made his debut in 1990, he probably didn’t think that he would make such a huge impact in the business. Jericho has competed in WCW, WWE, New Japan Pro-Wrestling, and All Elite Wrestling; plus, the 54-year-old has notable achievements such as being the only man to beat The Rock and Stone Cold Steve Austin in the same night for the Undisputed Championship, being the first-ever AEW World Champion, a Grand Slam WWE Champion, and a multi-time WCW Cruiserweight Champion. There’s so many things that the veteran has accomplished that it’s too many too list!
Chris Jericho has wrestled for over three decades. It’s been noticeable within the last year or two that fans have been rejecting the future WWE Hall of Famer, but the ROH World Champion has shrugged off the criticism thus far. During his interview with TMZ, Jericho was asked what does he have left to accomplish in pro wrestling.
"I mean, it's just to continue to do memorable things and to create new memories for people and continue to evolve in this business that I've been in love with since I was a teenager. So if you're looking at facts and figures, there's really nothing left to accomplish for me. If you're looking for just continuing to enjoy what I'm doing and create, like I said, cool moments for people to remember and cheer for or boofor, whatever it may be. Um, that's basically what I have left to accomplish. That's on a nightly basis. Cause I don't take anything lightly and I don't phone anything in or half ass anything.
So anytime I accept, like I said earlier, if this is your mission, if you choose to accept it, well, you better give a thousand percent. Cause that's what people are paying their hard earned money for, especially before Christmas. I want to give them, you know, an early Christmas present and a show that they can remember knowing that just in a couple of days, they're going to have to spend more money for other gigs. or whatever it may be. So there's so much to do in this day and age, and there's so many ways for people to get entertainment that when they choose us, we want to make sure that they leave very, very happy, and that's always been my goal."
There’s no telling when Chris Jericho plans on hanging up the boots for good, but if the AEW star decided to call it quits today then he’ll be fondly remembered as one of the greats of our generation.
