CM Punk Called WRESTLEMANIA A "Buy One Get One Free Extravaganza" During Promo With MJF On AEW DYNAMITE

While it looked like AEW might have been planning to sideline CM Punk and MJF's rivalry, it was reignited in a big way during last night's episode of AEW Dynamite on TBS.

Just as MJF was about to score an easy win over Shawn Dean to boost his win record, Punk hit the ring and used the GTS on Dean to cause the disqualification. Why? Well, that meant MJF lost the match, starting his 2022 off with a loss on his record; with that, Punk vowed to continue costing MJF his victories until he finally agrees to step in the ring for a one-on-one match.

Another blistering promo followed, with MJF pointing out that Punk shouldn't be too quick to compare himself to Roddy Piper because, unlike the Best in the World, he headlined a WrestleMania. The heel then pointed out that perhaps he'll headline the Show of Shows if he doesn't get the respect he deserves in AEW, leading to a major mic drop moment from Punk.

"If you think the grass is greener over there, go main event night four of the buy one get one free extravaganza and get released." That's obviously a reference to the fact this year's WrestleMania will take place over two nights, and low ticket sales have resulted in WWE offering BOGOF deals.

On next week's AEW Dynamite, Punk is scheduled to square off with Wardlow. Elsewhere on the show, Jurassic Express became AEW World Tag Team Championships, Jade Cargill won the TBS Championship, and "Hangman" Adam Page managed to defeat Bryan Danielson to retain his AEW World Championshionship in an early match of the year candidate.
