During a recent promo on AEW Dynamite, CM Punk strongly hinted that Daniel Bryan/Bryan Danielson is on his way to the company. Rumours have been swirling for months now that will be the case, with the current theory being that the Leader of the Yes Movement will be at All Out on Sunday.
Punk is set to square off with Darby Allin at the PPV, and has been doing the rounds to hype that match. Asked by WFAN New York (via WrestlingNews.co) whether Bryan's AEW debut is a foregone conclusion at this point, Punk basically confirmed that, yes, the former WWE Superstar is heading to AEW!
"Listen, 7 years I was gone. If you told me who is the one guy that could get you back to wrestling, you can just have one match with him it would be him," Punk said. "I don’t know if that answer’s your question or not. But the guy was in the WrestleMania main event 6 months ago so that would be a huge acquisition. I think he could do everything he wants to do."
"For a guy like me and him, pro wrestling is art. This is our art," he concluded.
Punk vs. Bryan in 2021 is, without a shadow of a doubt, a dream match. AEW making that happen will pull in a lot of new eyes, and it sounds like Bryan's plans to join the company could have factored into why the Best in the World decided to make his long-overdue pro wrestling return.
