Are we getting closer to seeing CM Punk back in an All Elite Wrestling ring? If this latest report on the former champion's status is any indication, the final decision rests solely on the shoulders of Tony Khan.

According to Fightful.com, Punk has made it known that he wants to return, and has "expressed a willingness to work in a number of ways....including with the Elite."

As you'll no doubt be aware, Punk had a much-publicized altercation with Kenny Omega and the Young Bucks following the All Out media scrum.

Of course, just because Punk wants back in, doesn't mean it's going to happen. A recent rumor suggested that his widely-circulated Instagram rant about the likes of Jon Moxley and Chris Jericho may have hurt his chances.

At the end of the day, business is business, and we're sure all parties involved will put personal feelings aside when it comes to being involved with what would likely be one of the biggest storylines in pro-wrestling history (potentially, at least).

What do you guys make of this update? Do you think Punk will ultimately return to AEW? Drop us a comment down below.
