Former WWE Superstar Mercedes Martinez Debuted On AEW DYNAMITE And Laid Waste To Thunder Rosa

We expected a big surprise during last night's episode of AEW Dynamite, and that came in the form of Mercedes Martinez making her debut for the company! Find out exactly what happened on the show here...

Mercedes Martinez wrestled for WWE sporadically in 2017 and 2018, and later appeared for AEW at All Out in 2019. After returning to WWE the following year, she ended up being released back in August. Well, Martinez is once again "All Elite," but this time, she's signed a deal with the company.

During Thunder Rosa's match with Jade Cargill to decide who will face Ruby Soho in the finals of the TBS Championship Tournament, a mysterious masked figure appeared and took a cheap shot at Rosa. That allowed Cargill to win the match, and Martinez would unmask just moments later. A post-match attack followed that saw Soho eventually hit the ring to chase the heels off.

We're excited to see what's next for Martinez in AEW, but Rosa's ring gear has also been generating a lot of discussion online. Why? It's based on Marvel Comics character X-23/Wolverine, and the pro wrestler is clearly a big fan of the superhero as she was basically cosplaying as the mutant here.

Take a closer look at Thunder Rosa's ring gear (and some highlights from the match) below:
