Gabe Kidd shocked fans when he helped Jon Moxley.
The New Japan Pro-Wrestling star came to the aid of Moxley during last week’s AEW World Championship match. The 28-year-old confirmed that he was on Team Deathriders on Collision, and plans on joining Moxley and the crew in their upcoming Anarchy in the Arena match.
Speaking to Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful, the former Strong Openweight Champion further discussed his partnership with Jon Moxley and clarifies his placement in AEW.
"I don’t work for AEW. I work for Jon Moxley right now. You can say what you want, but I have my purpose, my vision, my path. That’s what I’m doing right now. [frick] all the noise. It’s about what I’m trying to accomplish, what we are trying to accomplish."
Kidd flat out told Sapp that it was “none of his business” in regards to how his business relationship with Moxley came to be. He highlighted the importance of the partnership and that people should be happy that it came to fruition.
That transitioned into the Anarchy in the Arena match itself. Kidd is more than ready for the annual Double or Nothing bout and feels that he thrives in this kind of environment.
"I only think violent thoughts. Let me get this clear, this is my battlefield," he said. "This is where I thrive, these kind of violent environments. That’s what I love. I just came off beating Ren Narita in a dogpound cage match. I’m just excited, happy, and content with where I’m going to be on Sunday. The people’s faces that I’m going to look down on and see them squeeming, it gets me excited and does make me happy. I grew up watching Samoa Joe. I’m going to look down on him when I’m punching him in the face repeatedly, and it’s going to be a very special moment for me."
Kidd doesn’t particularly care who’s added to Swerve Strickland’s team. He’s going to beat all of them and “rip their chest open and their hearts”.
"All of them. Whoever it is. Whoever the [frick] it is. I don’t care. All of them. They are putting AEW on their back. They’re putting that on their chest. [frick] em. I will rip their chests open and eat their hearts out for real. I will bite someone’s ear off. It’s crazy the things going through my head on a day-to-day basis. It’s mad."
