Two former world champions join the list of growing talents taking part in Bloodsport.
This year’s show is scheduled for Las Vegas the week of WrestleMania. Thus far, Tom Lawlor, Miyu Yamashita, Tim Thatcher, Simon Gotch, David Modzmanashvili, and Natalya Heidhart have been confirmed for the upcoming show. The former Goddess of Stardom Champion was just added to the list.
This will actually be Konami’s first Bloodsport in America. The Japan star has mainly competed in New Japan Pro-Wrestling, Pro-Wrestling: EVE, Sukeban, and YMZ Pro-Wrestling. Konami has been in wrestling for over ten years and is one of the top talents in Stardom. At the moment, her opponent has yet to be confirmed.
But that isn’t the only big name coming from Japan. Former IWGP World Heavyweight Champion Zack Sabre Jr. is making his return to Game Changer Wrestling. The 37-year-old is quite busy that week as Zack will also be at Joey Janela’s Spring Break 9 (April 18), and Effy’s Big Gay Brunch 10 (April 19).
Though the former IWGP World Heavyweight Champion hasn’t been a part of Bloodsport per se, Zack’s submission based and technical style fits perfectly with the rules of the sport. Like Konami, Zack’s opponent has yet to be determined. Either way, we’ll be in for a treat since Sabre Jr. is considered one of the best wrestlers in the world.
For those who don’t follow the unique format, Bloodsport started in 2018 under Matt Riddle’s name. Once Riddle signed to WWE, the event was turned over to former UFC fighter Josh Barnett. The rules are quite simple: every match will end either by knockout or submission. Instead of the traditional pro wrestling ring, the canvas has no ropes or turnbuckles.
We’re just a little over a month away from the annual Bloodsport and the growing list of names shows signs of a good show. Below are the confirmed names for Bloodsport XIII:
