Here we go again.
WWE has made another sweeping series of releases, and to say we're confused would be an understatement. While there had been rumblings that some cuts would be made today, more huge names are gone from the company, many of whom had the potential to be top stars. Now, they'll be able to take their talents elsewhere, though there are a lot of free agents for the likes of AEW and IMPACT to choose from.
After months of speculation regarding her whereabouts, Scarlett Bordeaux was among the first to be released. Her fiance and former NXT Champion Karrion Kross soon followed, though we're sure he'll be glad to be among those freed from WWE after months of abysmal booking by Vince McMahon.
Another NXT Superstar the WWE Chairman just didn't get is also gone; despite being repacked as "Bearcat" and rumours of a heel turn, Keith Lee has also been released. One of the biggest shocks has to be Nia Jax, but despite her being one of WWE's top female Superstars, her habit of injuring opponents means this was in some ways long overdue.
Believe it or not, Eva Marie is also gone despite being brought back with much fanfare this year.
Harry Smith, Zayda Ramier, and Mia Yim (who is married to Keith Lee) have been fired, along with Lince Dorado, Hit Row member B-Fab, Oney Lorcan, Franky Monet, Ember Moon (seriously), Trey Baxter, Katrina Cortez, Jeet Rama, Gran Metalik, and Jessi Kamea.
There are so many pro wrestlers here who could have been future main eventers, the mind boggles at what WWE is doing. We're entering WCW in 2000 levels of stupidity, and it's beginning to feel a lot like this company has no real future ahead of it once those lucrative TV deals are no longer quite so profitable.
