For the first-time ever, a women’s match will take place at Wrestle Kingdom.
Stardom announced that during New Japan Pro Wrestling’s biggest show of the year, a women’s bout will be held at the event on January 4, though the contest will be a dark match. At the moment, the competitors have yet to be announced.
Stardom is also hosting its own event ahead of the Wrestle Kingdom event at Ryogoku KFC Hall at 12:00 pm local time.
Back in October, Japanese entertainment company and owner of New Japan Pro Wrestling, Bushiroad, purchased World Wonder Ring Stardom. Both companies plan on remaining separate, though the female talents working in Stardom do gain big exposure working at Wrestle Kingdom 14.
Talents such as AEW Women’s Champion Riho and Bea Priestley work for Stardom; however, it’s not known whether they’ll work the Wrestle Kingdom event or not.
