It was previously reported that Adam “Hangman” Page vs. PAC was officially scrapped from the Double or Nothing pay-per-view due to creative differences on the former WWE star’s end. The full bout between Page and the Open the Dream Gate champion had at the WrestleGate Pro show in Nottingham, England has been released by AEW.
In a brief update on why the creative forces behind the match-card ultimately decided to pull the plug on the bout, it stems from PAC refusing to lose to Page due to his status as the World champion in Dragon Gate. Since winning the Open the Dream Gate title, PAC has been looking to protect the prestige of the belt, thus he’s yet to take a pinfall loss. His matches with Will Ospreay and Zack Sabre Jr. both ended in 30-minute draws.
Page is still expected to have a match at Double or Nothing, and his opponent will be revealed at a later date, or possibly even on the show itself.
