Pete Dunne is returning to the indies.
First, it was recently announced that the WWE star would be making his debut for Bloodsport on April 17th and now, Pete Dunne returned home to OTT Wrestling on March 22nd.
OTT Wrestling held their homecoming show last Saturday that featured a couple of notable names such as Trent Seven (former NXT Tag Team Champion) and Sadie Gibbs (she had a brief run in AEW), and Elijah (former WWE star Elias), but no name was bigger than former NXT UK Champion Pete Dunne.
The 31-year-old fought against Sammy D and won the match. There was a nice little tribute for Triple H as Sammy, Dunne, and Seven all spit out water like the former WWE Champion.
Dunne had a lengthy run down in OTT Wrestling where he was the OTT Tag Team Champion with Trent Seven and Tyler Bate as British Strong Style. These guys held the belts for an astounding 852 days. However, Dunne also dominated the singles division as he’s a former two-time OTT No Limits Champion.
The last time Dunne competed in OTT Wrestling was in 2019 where he fought alongside Trent Seven and Tyler Bate against Kings of the North (Bonesaw, Damien Corvin & Dunkan Disorderly) in a Losers Leave Town match for the tag team titles.
Since it doesn’t seem that Dunne will have a match at WrestleMania 41, the WWE star is likely making his rounds around the indie scene so he’s not sitting in the back doing nothing. There’s no telling if Dunne plans on returning in the future, though it’s exciting to see him go back to his roots for a night or two.
