It Seems Chris Jericho May Not Be Entirely Finished With NEW JAPAN PRO WRESTLING

We all thought that Chris Jericho's stint with New Japan Pro Wrestling would be at an end after his loss to Kenny Omega at Wrestle Kingdom 12 but it seems that he may be sticking around for another bout...

Chris Jericho lost to Kenny Omega at Wrestle Kingdom 12 and it's fair to say that most of us suspected that he would then return to WWE later this year. However, at the end of the New Year Dash event, Y2J made a surprise appearance when he showed up and attacked Tetsuya Naito from behind. Could it be that another match is being set up for him sometime in the near future?

It's too soon to say but here's a breakdown of how it all went down from Wrestling Inc:

"Event looks to be over and Chris Jericho shows up to attack Naito from behind. Young Lions and LIJ come out to separate them, but Naito runs across the ring to strike. Naito then spits at Jericho and does his tranquilo pose in the middle of the ring, Jericho pounces on him. They get separated again. Jericho at ringside, throwing things into the ring and destroys the Japanese announce table as security takes him out. Naito grabs a chair and goes to throw it at Jericho, instead sets it down in the ring and sits, with his back to Jericho."

It's possible this was a way of NJPW bidding farewell to Jericho or that the promotion threw in one more appearance to keep new fans interested. Either way, it's fair to say this was unexpected and it's now going to be very interesting seeing what comes next for him. He's not expected to return to WWE before WrestleMania and, who knows, perhaps he never will! We're just going to have to wait and see.
