We’re less than a month away from the IWGP Heavyweight Championship match between Kazuchika Okada and Kota Ibushi.

It all started back in the G1 Climax tournament where Ibushi pulled off the shocking victory over the IWGP Heavyweight Champion to advance to the finals.

After defeating Jay White to win the 2019 G1 Climax tournament, the road to Wrestle Kingdom 14 has been a bumpy one for both men. For Okada, the IWGP Heavyweight Champion came close to dropping the belt to Minoru Suzuki and SANADA before his set showdown with Ibushi.

For the G1 Climax winner, his will has been tested in New Japan, with Ibushi coming close to losing his briefcase to EVIL.

Despite the rocky road, both competitors are set to fight for the top prize in New Japan Pro Wrestling and with tensions building at an all-time high, who will walk out of the first day of Wrestle Kingdom 14 as the IWGP Heavyweight Champion? We’ll find out on January 4th!
