Valerie Loureda will continue fighting for Bellator MMA.
The undefeated fighter is coming off a hot victory at Bellator 243 that saw Loureda beat Tara Graff in a second-round knockout. Following the big win, Bellator MMA confirmed that the 22-year-old has signed a multi-year, multi-fight contract extension.
Loureda has been competing in Bellator since 2019 and the young star was impressive in her bouts against Colby Fletcher and Larkyn Dasch. Like the other flyweights in the division, the Florida native is aiming to become the next 125-pound champion, which is currently held by another undefeated fighter, Ilima-Lei Macfarlane:
“I am pleased to have re-signed with Bellator,” Loureda said. “As I have always said, I am here to show the world the true martial artist that I am and chase the flyweight belt. I was born for this, I am a natural born fighter.”
In addition to Macfarlane, Loureda will compete in a division that features top talents such as Liz Carmouche, Juliana Velasquez, Alejandra Lara, Denise Kielholtz, and Malin Hermansson. The rising prospect's professional record is 3 wins and 0 losses. At the moment, there’s no word on when Loureda plans on making her return to the octagon.
