MMA is obviously quite a dangerous sport, and we've seen many nasty injuries occur during UFC matches over the years - but at least North American officials are generally on the ball when it comes to preventing any serious harm coming to a grounded fighter.

During Asha Roka and Hannah Kampf's flyweight match at India's Super Fight League, the latter found herself at the mercy of Roka's tight guillotine choke and seemed to pass out from it in a matter of seconds. Unfortunately, the ref failed to notice this and because Kampf continues to move her arms, the hold was not broken until her cornerman Dennis Hallman rushed in to break up the perilous situation.

The choke wasn't held long enough to put Kampf in any serious danger, but who knows what might have happened if Hallman didn't spot what the ref failed to. Let's hope this guy's negligence means he's banned from ever officiating an MMA bout again.

You can check out the video for yourselves below. The incident occurs around the 42:00 mark.
