Conor McGregor will finally make his return to the octagon.
After strongly teasing a comeback in 2019, the former Lightweight and Featherweight Champion will step into the octagon against Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone at UFC 246 in January.
Both men teased a bout previously throughout the year, with the initial belief that McGregor and Cerrone would fight back in July. The fight never happened, though the former two-division champion never stopped hinting at several bouts against numerous UFC Fighters.
McGregor is looking to bounce back after his submission loss to Khabib Nurmagomedov at UFC 229. Prior to his UFC lightweight title loss, the 31-year-old had wins over Nate Diaz and Eddie Alvarez coming in. The Ireland native’s professional record stands at 21 wins and 4 losses.
Cerrone is also looking for a win, as the 36-year-old is currently on a two-fight losing streak. The “Cowboy” was defeated by Tony Ferguson at UFC 238 and Justin Gaethje at UFC Fight Night Vancouver. Cerrone’s professional record stands at 36 wins, 13 losses, and 1 no contest.
UFC 246 takes place on Saturday, January 18 from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada with Conor McGregor and Donald Cerrone headlining.
