Life hasn’t exactly been smooth for Michael Bisping over the past several months. First, a lawsuit was filed against the former UFC champ back in late October. Then on November 4th, Bisping lost his Welterweight title to Georges St-Pierre and then lost via knockout to Kelvin Gastelum on November 25th.
Now, a judge has ordered Bisping to pay approximately $426,284 to his former manager Anthony McGann (the founder of the Wolfslair MMA Academy gym) after an 11 day trial. The case’s dispute stemmed from a contract Bisping signed in 2005 prior to his successful run on The Ultimate Fighter 3.
The judge also scolded both men for their reported scuffle inside of a court waiting area.
The judge criticized Bisping’s actions, stating that he had “fallen well short of the standard that the court is entitled to expect,” and also for “tailoring and trimming his evidence to suit his case,” and calling portions of the fighter’s evidence “incredible and untrue.”
Regarding McGann, Salter stated that the ex-manager “greatly exaggerated” his claim against the former welterweight champion by presenting evidence that was “plainly untruthful” and “recent fabrications.” Salter alleged that McGann’s claims “varied between the aggressive and the obsequious” and included “false documents and false evidence.”
