Tonight is Anthony Smith’s final UFC fight.
A former UFC Light Heavyweight Contender that has stumbled a bit in the last few years. The 36-year-old is currently on a two-fight skid, with his losses coming against Roman Dolidze (UFC 303) and Dominick Reyes (UFC 310). Overall, Smith has only won two out of his last six fights, and his opponent won’t be any easier. The UFC Light Heavyweight is currently No. 15 in the divisional rankings. Smith’s record is 37 wins and 21 losses.
Zhang Mingyang is on a 11-fight winning streak. The UFC Light Heavyweight took the division by storm in 2024 by scoring a devastating knockout on Tuco Tokkos. In fact, Zhang has only won his fights in the UFC by knockout. The hot newcomer will likely creep into the division rankings if he beats Anthony Smith. Mingyang’s record currently stands at 18 wins and 6 losses.
In the main event, Ian Machado Garry is hoping to bounce back after suffering his first MMA loss at UFC 310. Before his shocking loss, Garry had an impressive 15-fight winning streak that saw him beat high level names such as Michael Page, Geoff Neal, and Neil Magny. Coming in, Garry’s record stands at 15 wins and 1 losses.
His opponent is on a strong 11-fight winning streak. Carlos Prates hasn’t lost a fight since 2019. Thus far, Prates has yet to lose within the UFC and his stint has seen him win every fight via TKO. Prates’ divisional ranking is at No. 13. His overall mma record is 21 wins and 6 losses.
