Last Friday at Bellator 187, Conor McGregor made waves and headlines for jumping into the cage after his teammate and friend Charlie Ward won a fight via knockout in the first round. Chaos enused once McGregor entered the cage as he wasn't cleared to enter and as the videos have shown, McGregor gets aggressive with various officials including one he particularly doesn't like, Marc Goddard. Since then, McGregor issued an apology on social media for his actions, but noticeably never apologizes to referee Marc Goddard throughout the post.

Referee Marc Goddard has written a long post on his facebook account detailing his side of the events on Friday. Goddard clears up the fact that the fight was never officially over once McGregor entered the ring as John Redmond, the fighter who lost to Ward, was still reeling from his concussive blow and referees and officials were still attending to him. Goddard makes it clear throughout the post that he was just following procedure and never insults McGregor, despite the current UFC Lightweight champion clearly being in the wrong. Goddard even addresses McGregor, stating that no further actions should be taken against McGregor and that he simply has the upmost respect for the "Notorious" fighter.
