Ostarine is in the Anabolic Agents category of the UFC’s anti-doping policy and carries a maximum sanction of two years for first offenders.

“Ostarine,  which is also known as MK-2866 and Enobosarm, is a non-FDA approved selective androgen receptor modulator (SARM) that is illegally sold in the United States and worldwide as a performance-enhancing substance,” the USADA release stated. “Ostarine is not currently available as a prescription medication in any country, and its unauthorized use may carry serious side effects.”

Along with the USADA suspension, Ribas’ failed drug test also falls under the jurisdiction of the Nevada Athletic Commission (NAC), who’s likely to  sanction the Brazilian fighter.
Ribas, 24, was provisionally suspended in June and pulled from a scheduled fight with Juliana Lima at the TUF 25 Finale in July. That bout would have been her UFC debut. Ribas (6-1)has fought mostly in her native country of Brazil,  collecting five finishes in six victories.

Ribas’ suspension is retroactive to the date the positive sample was collected, so she’ll be eligible to return to the UFC on June 7, 2019.
