Good news for UFC Flyweight Brandon Moreno, as he will not receive any punsihment after failing an in ring competition urine test that was administered on August 6. After losing to Sergio Pettis at Fight Night 114 in Mexico City, Moreno was informed that trace amounts of a banned substance called clenbuterol were found.
A investigation led USADA officials to rule that the trace presence of clenbuterol in Moreno's system "very likely resulted from clenbuterol contaminated meat cosumed in Mexico," thus as a result, the No. 7 ranked fighter will not face a suspension stemming from the failed test.
The 14-4 fighter can now go back to focusing on training in hopes of his next fight resulting in a win.
This isn't the first time an issue of clenbuterol-tainted meat has affected a UFC fighter as Ning Guangyou, Augusto Montano, and Li Jinghing have all consumed clenbuterol-tainted meat, which is found Mexico and China more often.
