Leon Edwards continues to beat everyone put in front of him. Fighting in the incredibly tough welterweight division, Edwards - winner of six-straight fights, entered UFC Fight Night 147 looking for respect. He should definitely get some following an impressive victory over Gunnar Nelson in London on Saturday night.

Edwards was in complete control for much of the match, even outwrestling Nelson, who is considered one of the better grapplers in the division. It was in the second round, however, when Edwards truly turned up the heat, knocking Nelson to the mat with a vicious elbow and pouncing on him, landing some devasting strikes.

Nelson actually survived the assault and even showed signs of life in the final round. He managed to get a takedown and established the top position in the final minute of the third round, but it wasn't enough.

Edwards earned a split decision victory. It was 29-27 and 29-28 in favor of Edwards with the third judge scoring it 29-28 Nelson.

During his post-fight interview, Edwards called for the UFC and media to "put some respect on my name," and challenged the winner of the Till-Masvidal main event. Find out the winner of that fight here.
The win was Edwards (17-3) seventh straight. It was his fourth win by decision in his past five fights.
