On Saturday, Georges St-Pierre did something that many believed was going to be impossible. Not only did St-Pierre beat Michael Bisping, but he made the former middleweight champion tap out, becoming only the second man ever to make Bisping submit. However, that was Saturday and the dust has settled now, so it's time to look towards the future.
On Saturday during a press conference, Dana White announced that Robert Whittaker, the current UFC interim middleweight champion, will be St-Pierre's next fight. However, no time frame or date has been announced for when the fight will take place as Bisping did take huge damage during his fight against Bisping.
“It’s going to be Whittaker,” White told reporters at the post-fight conference. “I don’t even know what’s going on with GSP. He was transported to the hospital, so he’s got to get stitches on his nose. If he doesn’t take Bisping down and keeps this fight standing, he comes out of that fight with almost no damage. Bisping did some serious work from his back and split his nose open and had him bleeding all over his face. He (St-Pierre) took some big shots from the top position and if he didn’t do that he probably would’ve come out unscratched. So yeah, he’s got to go to the hospital right now. We’ll see how he is and what the status is with him.”
We'll keep you updated on when the fight is officially announced to take place.
