Mike Perry will miss extended time after undergoing successful surgery to repair a badly broken nose suffered in his loss to Vicente Luque at UFC Uruguay earlier this month.

Perry was on the wrong end of a brutal knee from Luque that severly disfigured his nose and sent blood pouring out and onto the canvas. To Perry's credit, he fought through the blood, but he ultimately came up short in a split decision loss. However, the fight was much closer than the damage on Perry's face might have suggested.

Perry was rushed from the cage to the hospital where he underwent roughly an hour-long procedure to fix the damage done to his nose. And while he'll be out for at least six months as he recovers from the injury, Perry seemed to be in good spirits.

Perry made several posts on Instagram while from the hospital, including one in which he praised Luque for his performance.

"Verified [Fight of the Night]! It takes 2 ! Thanks for the bonus, you didn’t have to do my face like that tho sheesh," Perry wrote in one of the posts. "Cursed with this chin, should’ve had my guard up like you. Ko or not one significant strike can do the job. When I’m healed we’ll train so you can beat these wrestlers. Congrats [Vicente Luque!"

Perry also celebrated the fact that he still hasn't been knocked out.
