UFC 243's main card opened with two heavyweight fighters making their Octagon debuts.

Contender Series winner Yorgan De Castro made quick work of his opponent, fellow newcomer Justin Tafa, scoring a brutal first-round knockout.

Both fighters displayed some heavy power early on, with Tafa actually looking pretty impressive. Tafa came out aggressive and landed a few hard shots to the face and body of De Castro. However, a missed wild right hand left him open to De Castro who connected with his own powerful right hand. A solid connection to the jaw of Tafa knocked him out cold just 2:10 into round one.

It was Yorgan De Castro's first win in the UFC as he moves to a 6-0 professional record. On the flip side, it was Tafa's first professional loss as he falls to 3-1.
