Zabit Magomedsharipov isn't buying the claims that Yair Rodriguez pulled off the fight night card due to injury.

Earlier this week, Dana White himself announced that Rodriguez would no longer headline the August 29 event due to the featherweight suffering an ankle injury. It was originally confirmed back in late June that these two top contenders would square off on the fight night card; however, according to Zabit, Rodriguez never actually signed off on the match-up.

Following the announcement of Rodriguez’s injury, Magomedsharipov claimed that either the fighter had no balls, or that the UFC was playing games the whole time:

As of this writing, neither Dana White or Yair Rodriguez have responded to Magomedsharipov’s statement. Word backstage is that Calvin Kattar is ready to step in and take on the featherweight; however, Magomedsharipov seems to be aiming higher as he called out the current featherweight champion Alexander Volkanski:

There is no word yet if Magomedsharipov will remain on the card, but we’ll keep you updated when more news comes to light regarding a potential match-up.
