WrestleMania 30 was an incredible moment for Daniel Bryan.
WWE was forced to listen to the fans after they demanded to see Daniel Bryan in the main event. That year, WWE tried to make the main event Batista vs. Randy Orton, but fans soundly rejected that idea. One of the more iconic moments was seeing Bryan holding up the WWE and World Heavyweight titles and motioning Yes! Over and over again.
But as iconic as that moment was, Daniel Bryan feels that pales in comparison to huge win over Swerve Strickland at All In 2024. Speaking to the Sun Sport News, the AEW star explains why his AEW World Title win meant more to him than his WrestleMania 30 win.
"What meant the most to me about that match is my family being there. My kids got to see me wrestle; my daughter was old enough to be able to remember it for the rest of her life," Danielson explained, noting that while he might just be a dad, his daughter will remember the moment her dad was cool at Wembley Stadium forever. "Pretty soon, I'm not going to be cool! But I'm just going to keep reminding her: 'Sweet girl, remember that time that I was cool?'"
To compare, Danielson stated that his sister and niece were only allowed to come into the ring with him at WrestleMania XXX. Even his future wife to be, Brie Bella, wasn’t allowed to share that fun moment with him.
"And then...it wasn't just that I was going through a ton of neck pain," he added. "So, these things that seem like cool moments to a viewer? There's all this other stuff going on in a wrestler's life or in a performer's life that could make that moment not as valuable to them as it is to the people viewing.”
Bryan has been back in the news lately due to his surprising return at All In where he helped Adam “Hangman” Page beat Jon Moxley for the AEW World Heavyweight title. Did Bryan make his full time return? No. The former AEW World Champion has made that clear, and there’s no indication that Bryan intends to come back and wrestle anytime soon.
If Bryan doesn’t wrestle again then both his All In and WrestleMania 30 moments are certainly one of the best of his career. It’s understandable why many would choose the latter since it’s the moment that made Bryan a top star, but Danielson's reasoning for liking the All In win better is pretty sound.
