EVIL has turned, well, evil!

The 2020 New Japan Cup winner was finally crowned with EVIL beating Kazuchika Okada. The 32-man tournament has seen some surprises along the way, such as SHO beating NEVER Openweight Champion Shingo Takagi, and now, EVIL pulling out the victory over the former IWGP Heavyweight Champion.

However, the New Japan star’s victory was surely a controversial one as Okada originally had the bout won after a pair of rainmakers and a submission; however, Gedo came down and distracted the referee. This allowed Yujiro Takahashi to interfere and attack the former IWGP Heavyweight Champion.

Okada managed to escape a Darkness Falls attempt; however, a referee bump took place and EVIL nailed a low blow. EVIL then hit Okada with Everything Is Evil for a three count. At first, it appeared as the Bullet Club wanted to keep Okada away from the main event picture; however, the former Los Ingobernables de Japon member’s true colors were revealed when he turned on Tetsuya Naito and the entire Bullet Club (minus Jay White) assaulted the IWGP Intercontinental and Heavyweight Champ.

EVIL has teased turning for some time now during the tournament, which was highly noticeable during his semi-finals match against long-time partner Sanada. Following the contest, EVIL made it clear that he will do anything to win the overall competition.
