NJPW’s business continues to be vastly affected by the coronavirus as the company cancelled their scheduled Lion’s Break Project 3, which would’ve taken place on April 2 in Tampa, Florida.

While matches weren't made official for the event, the Lion’s Break Project was meant to showcase the new talent from NJPW’s LA Dojo. The names that were confirmed for show were Hiroshi Tanahashi, Ren Narita, Karl Fredericks, Clark Connors and Alex Coughlin.

Thus far, the Japanese promotion has been forced to cancel their annual New Japan Cup tournament, which would’ve seen 32 men compete in a elimination style tournament for a chance at the IWGP Heavyweight & Intercontinental titles at SAKURA GENESIS.

In addition to the yearly competition, their Anniversary event that would’ve seen Hiromu Takahashi take on Tetsuya Naito in a non-title match was also scrapped, along with nearly every other event in March. Thus far, their SAKURA GENESIS 2020 pay-per-view on March 31st has yet to be postponed or cancelled.

Refunds will be issued to ticket holders in the coming days; the procedure is detailed on NJPW1972.com, as well as WrestleCon’s own official website.
