WWE Superstar Shinsuke Nakamura was recently interviewed by Renee Paquette on her "Oral Sessions" podcast, and opened up about his past interactions with Brock Lesnar.
They crossed paths in New Japan Pro Wrestling during the mid-2000s, but Lesnar - who had just wrapped up his WWE run - stirred controversy in the company after winning the IWGP Heavyweight Championship after pinning Masahiro Chono. He took the title with him when he left Japan, and was stripped of the championship due to "visa issues."
However, it seems The Beast didn't agree with the decision because he chose to lose his title to Kurt Angle in 2007 in Antonio Inoki's IGF promotion.
Asked by Renee whether he would consider facing Lesnar in WWE, Nakamura responded, "If I have the opportunity, of course." However, when he was asked to share the reaction of those in NJPW when Brock took off with the title, the King of Strong Style issued a simple one-word response: "Unprofessional."
It seems there's no love lost between Nakamura and Lesnar, and in the same interview, he talked about why he got involved in the wrestling world to begin with.
"Two older sisters always bullied me. My sister’s friend tried to bully me. I was too nice, still. I want to be a man. That’s why I started and was interested in martial arts, to be strong and to be a man. Also, I’m a big fan of ninja and samurai. Finally, I found wrestling. Wrestlers do matches almost every day, so if that makes me tough, then I should be a wrestler."
