Last night, NWA held its second pay-per-view since the pandemic forced the legendary promotion to close its doors for eight months, and although When Our Shadows Fall proved to be a typically exciting event, only one title ended up changing hands.
Serena Deeb, who had held the NWA Women's World Championship for 222 days after beating Thunder Rosa on UWN Primetime Live back in October of last year, faced-off against the Amazon-like Kamille, and was unable to retain the gold after a terrific back-and-forth bout.
Deeb threw everything she had at the "Brickhouse," but her much larger opponent simply proved to be too powerful, and managed to pin Serena's shoulders to the ground for the 3-count after a devastating spear.
Kamille has been one of the most "over" stars in the company for some time now, and it was only a matter of time before she won the gold. The NWA Women's Championship was also being defended on AEW when Deeb held it, but it's unclear if that'll be the plan moving forward now that NWA is back on television.
