Adam Cole Wins A Gruelling Ladder Match To Become The First Ever NXT North American Champion
In the first of 3 huge title changes last night at NXT Takeover: New Orleans, Undisputed Era's Adam Cole managed to climb the ladder and retrieve the title to become the first ever North American Champion.
NXT delivered another superb Takeover last night in NOLA (you'll find a full breakdown of the show here), and the first bout was one for the ages.
After the brutal ladder match which saw spot after ultra-dangerous spot take place, Undisputed Era leader Adam Cole (baybay) outlast The Velveteen Dream, Lars Sullivan, EC3, Ricochet, and Killian Dane to become the first ever NXT North American Champion.
Velveteen Dream was actually favourite to win this going in, and he came very close. But Cole has been on the cusp of a major push for a while now and definitely deserves the spotlight. Expect either Dream or Ricochet to emerge as his first #1 contender.
