Kassius Ohno is officially retired from professional wrestling.
However, Chris Hero is back and ready to take the professional wrestling world by storm:
Unfortunately, the 40-year-old was one of the wrestlers released from their contracts due to the WWE looking to cut back on expenses. Ohno has had two stints with the promotion; however, the former EVOLVE Champion mostly served as the gatekeeper for NXT and NXT UK.
It should be interesting to see where Hero goes next, as the Ohio native has multiple ties to several different promotions. Hero has notably worked in Ring of Honor with Claudio Castagnoli (Cesaro) as the Kings of Wrestling and is a former ROH World Tag Team Champion. Hero’s stint with the indie promotion lasted about ten years.
Hero also worked in TNA Wrestling, though his tenure mostly consisted of dark matches. He also has ties to Pro Wrestling Guerrilla, Combat Zone Wrestling, Chikara, All Pro Wrestling, EVOLVE, and DDT Pro-Wrestling. Hero has won a title within each company, most notably capturing the CZW World Heavyweight Championship, Ironman Heavymetalweight Championship, and EVOLVE Championship.
At the moment, there’s no word on where Hero plans to go once indie promotions start to run live events again.
