Io Shirai and Toni Storm did battle last week on NXT before the match was interrupted by Bianca Belair. Shirai appeared to be limping as she made he way backstage, and we're heating that she did indeed suffer an injury during the bout.

The good news is, the injury is not said to be too serious - although the Joshi Judas could still miss around two months of television.

Here's what Dave Melzter had to say on the latest episode of Wrestling Observer Radio:

"Shirai suffered a knee injury catching Toni Storm on a dive on the 1/22 NXT show. She doesn’t need major surgery and right now the recovery time looks to be two months, based on an estimate a few days ago."

Io is one of the most popular Superstars on the black and gold brand right now so this will obviously put the breaks on her momentum somewhat, but two months is still a relatively short period of time to be on the shelf in the pro-wrestling world.

There are rumors that The Genius of the Sky has become a little disheartened with working for the company, though, so let's hope her time away doesn't sway her decision to return to Japan.
