On the NXT TakeOver: WarGames III media call, WWE executive and NXT founder Triple H addressed talents airing their grieves on social media and requesting their release. Triple H deemed the action “unprofessional” and stated that “We all have cellphones. You meet, you handle your business like a professional."
Ever since Tye Dillinger revealed on social media in February that he requested his release from the company (which was ultimately granted), talents saw that as a possible way to get out their strict WWE contract, as Luke Harper, Mike Kanellis, and Sin Cara have all went public about requesting their release from the company.
However, it was reported last week that NXT and 205 Live star Oney Lorcan had requested his release from the company, though unlike the three talents above, Lorcan has yet to go public about asking for his departure. As of this writing, Lorcan has yet to be released, and the 205 Live star has responded to Triple H’s statement clearly taking a shot at the WWE executive:
THE MATURE PROFESSIONAL THING TO SAY WOULD BE NO COMMENT AND HAVE A PRIVATE CONVERSATION PROMOTER TO INDEPENDENT CONTRACTOR INSTEAD OF BURYING TALENT PUBLICLY TO THE MEDIA THATS HOW I DO BUSINESS ITS ALL ABOUT THE GAME AND HOW YOU PLAY IT

Since AEW formed, WWE has done everything in their power to keep talents under contract, and for Harper, Kanellis, and Sin Cara,WWE doesn’t appear to be releasing these men anytime soon despite their clear unhappiness. Though anything is possible, as recent rumors suggest that the company might actually let unhappy talents go from their contracts.
