The NXT Women's Championship Will Reportedly Be Known As The "NXT Championship" Moving Forward

Yeah, this could get confusing. It's being reported that WWE has decided to remove gender-specific language from the NXT Women's Championship, renaming it the NXT Championship. We see a slight problem...

Raw Women's Champion Becky Lynch recently suggested that WWE should stop using gender specific language when referring to the Men’s and Women’s divisions while appearing on WWE Backstage, and it looks like the company has taken notice - at least when it comes to the black and gold brand.

It's now been confirmed that the NXT Women's Championship will be known as The NXT Championship moving forward. That's all fine and good, but we already have an NXT Championship around the waste of Adam Cole!

As The Man points out in the video below, there are a lot of valid reasons to make this change, but unless WWE is planning to meld the divisions and allow inter-gender matches (not gonna happen), it doesn't really make a lot of sense.

It's unclear if WWE plans on making similar changes on Raw and SmackDown, but we should get some updates pretty soon.

What do you guys make of this development? Let us know in the comments.
